Extension Gunners will visit Jwaneng Comets who were promoted to the Premier League this season while BDF XI will play another top flight rookie, Motlakase Power Dynamos in Palapye.
According to the Premier League General Manager Setete Phutego, the games will be played from January 19 to January 24 and Premier League fixtures scheduled on those dates will be suspended.
BDF XI spokesperson, Phillimon Mompati described the draw as favourable for his side at this stage of the competition.
Mompati said it is good to play against Motlakase as they are competing in the same league and they understand them better. He said teams from lower divisions are always tricky to play against because they always have time to watch Premier League teams play. He said this makes it easier for lower division teams to plan against their Premier League counterparts.
The last time the two teams met in the league, BDF narrowly won 1-0.
Motlakase's Monty Gagomokgwa said he was also happy with the draw as they have been longing to face BDF XI to avenge the league loss in a game which he feels they were robbed. 'The game could not have come at a better time and I can assure you we will be very happy to see BDF XI off in this competition,' he said. Gagomokgwa, who was speaking on his way to Orapa as his side played Boteti Young Fighters in a league fixture yesterday, said they know BDF XI is a good side. He said they know that this is a knockout competition and only a win will see them through.
In other interesting fixtures, defending champions Uniao Flamingo Santos face unpredictable First Division outfit, Tonota FC. The Tonota side has a reputation of knocking out Premier League teams from the country's premier cup competition. On song Township Rollers are hoping for an easy walk in the park when they face F.C Satmos in Selebi-Phikwe while 2008 winners, Mochudi Centre Chiefs will play Queens Happy Hearts in Gaborone.
