Regiment Fails To Arrest Crime In Kgatleng

Senior Superintendent, Seabo Maboka  of Mochudi Police said in an interview with Mmegi that the is worried by the high rate of break-ins and theft in the area. He said house-breaking and burglary were rife especially in Boseja Ward. Even sacred places have not been spared by thieves in the village as two churches were recently broken into at Ntshinoge Ward. A Bible and music instruments were stolen in the break-ins.

Maboka said another crime of concern in Kgatleng is that of stock theft and cattle rustling. However, cases of cattle rustling have been declining since the police started working with the people to fight the crime, he said 

Last year, Bakgatla Leader Kgafela Kgafela II assigned a regiment to help police the village in a bid to help reduce ever growing crime incidents in the village and other satelite Bakgatla villages. The hope has been that the regiment is effective as shown recently, when it apprehend a suspected cattle thief and handed him over to the police.
