Rain Disrupts Coke Matches

The game between Notwane and Prisons XI at Sharps Grounds in Old Naledi was called off with 20 minutes when the score was still 0-0. The clash between Mogoditshane Fighters and Naughty Boys could not proceed after 45 minutes of play in Tlokweng.

Notwane and Prisons XI looked like they were heading for a draw before the heavens opened. Notwane wasted several chances in the first half and could have been ahead by the time the tie was abandoned.  The game, which kicked off under cool weather saw both teams visiting each other's goals early. Prisons XI were the first to get a shot at goal in the fourth minute when Obed Ntau tested goalkeeper Botlhe Moralo from outside the box. The dreadlocked midfielder was impressive for the Warders.  Langson Sichola almost got the opener for Notwane in the 12th minute but towering Prisons' goalkeeper, Moagi Letsomo pulled off a save from a close header. Shortly thereafter, Kenamile Mani dribbled past Letsomo but ballooned the ball wide.

A string of chances then followed for Notwane with captain Keoagetse 'Barnes' Radipotsane forcing a save from Letsomo with a powerful shot from outside the box. Prisons XI came close immediately after the break but Leapeetswe Kgalemang delayed to shoot allowing Moralo to recover and save. Notwane then launched some fierce attacks as Prisons XI players started showing signs of fatigue.  The heavy downpour started 25 minutes into the second half and the referee stopped the game due to a water-logged and slippery pitch. Usually, Premier League teams play their lower division counterparts in dusty pitches at this stage of the competition.

In other games played on Saturday, Township Rollers took their Premier League form to the Coca-Cola Cup when they hammered FC Satmos 5-1 in Selebi-Phikwe. The woes of BMC continued as they were eliminated 2-1 from the competition by Miscellaneous in Serowe. The rest of the Saturday results are as follows;

Kang Swallows 0-2 Nico United, GNT 2-1 Mochudi Buffaloes, Santos 2-0 Tonota FC and Mathaithai 3-2 Boteti Young Fighters.
