Kgotlele's Hearing Adjourned To Tomorrow

BFA president David Fani said the hearing was adjourned at Kgotlele's request because he wanted to have a look at some documents relating to the case. 'It was not postponed because there are divisions within the BFA, but it was Kgotlele who requested for time to look at some documents,' Fani said. He refused to divulge charges levelled against Kgotlele who was banned after match-fixing allegations soon after the ill-fated trip to China last September.

Fani said divulging further information would prejudice the case. He said the matter was being handled internally for administrative purposes. Fani said it was not within their jurisdiction to dictate if law enforcement agents should investigate the case. 'It will be up to them (law enforcement agents) to decide, it's not up to us to decide. If there is any criminal aspect, it will be handled by the relevant authorities and it is entirely up to them,' Fani said. Kgotlele said the matter had to be postponed because he had not been given documents required to prepare for the hearing. 'The documents were not availed and I requested that they be made available. I was not given the terms of reference for the hearing,' Kgotlele said. He said at the moment no charges had been levelled against him as the hearing was still at a preliminary stage.

'Again if I commented on the charges, I would be pre-empting the matter,' Kgotlele said.
