Quiet festive in Mabutsane sub-district

According to Kebaitse, no fatalities were recorded during this period.

However, a 30-year-old man will be charged for operating public transport in an ungazetted route on December 24.

The bus, which operates the Jwaneng-Kanye route had an accident after Jwaneng as it was going to Tsabong. In another incident on December 26, a vehicle overturned between Tsabong and Jwaneng. The police suspect that the driver must have dozed off.

The passenger sustained injuries
On January 2, another vehicle overturned when it tried to avoid a cow that was hit earlier. The driver escaped unhurt while the passenger was admitted at the Jwaneng hospital and was due to have been released from the hospital this week.

Kebaitse said that they arrested a 31-year-old woman of Khakhea after she bit his husband on the hand and leg. It is suspected that the woman had taken one too many.

When the police tried to arrest her, she became abusive. Kebaitse said the woman will face too charges: assault occasioning actual bodily harm as well a common nuisance. The woman is an employee of the Kgalagadi District Council. 

Superintendent Kebaitse said the villages of Khonkhwa and Mahotshwane are prone to fight as a result of excessive drinking.
