Rollers confirm Molefe exit

The club's managing director, Somerset Gobuiwang told a press briefing in Gaborone on Wednesday that contrary to allegations that Molefe was not happy at Rollers, he left because of work commitments.  Molefe was roped in as an assistant coach last year when the log leaders restructured their technical department. Thabo Motang who had been doubling up as goalkeeper coach and assistant coach was released to concentrate on the goalkeeping role.

Gobuiwang said they have loaned out several players including Monageng Thaele who is in scintillating form at Extension Gunners. 'As you already know, Bokamoso Digwere is still on loan at Santos. We have also loaned out eight players under the age of 20 to UB Hawks to get more game time,' he added.

The team has made only one signing since the transfer window opened with former ECCO City Greens midfielder, Powell Abednico moving from Gunners.

Gobuiwang however said it is possible that they could add two or three players before the transfer window closes. He said they need to have a strong squad as they want to win the league and compete in the CAF club competitions next year. 'We have done well so far in the first round losing only one game to Santos and drawing with Chiefs and Gaborone United (GU). We hope to do even more than that in the second round,' he said.  Meanwhile, Rollers have announced that they are in the process of restructuring their branches and coming up with merchandising ideas that will benefit the club.

Communications manager, Monamodi Kgopana said they have decided to divide Gaborone into three branches - Gaborone South, Gaborone North and Gaborone West - in order to reach all their supporters.

He said they are working round the clock to revamp the club's website in order to make information easily accessible to both the media and the public.

Kgopana explained that they are concerned with people taking advantage of the team's recent good performances to print t-shirts and sell them without the club's consent.
He said this does not benefit the club in any way and they will come up with ways to stop the practice and avail official replicas to the supporters.
