Premier League teams join Coke action

This weekend, there will be two all-Premier League clashes featuring Comets against Extension Gunners at the Jwaneng Galaxy Stadium and Motlakase versus BDF XI at Palapye Swallows Grounds. Both fixtures take place on Sunday. It will be interesting to see whether Premier League form will count for anything in this weekend's games.

Gunners are in their best league form in years while Comets are finding the going tough.
Gunners have been boosted by the extension of midfielder, Monageng Thaele's loan spell.

Thaele was supposed to return to Township Rollers after his three-month loan spell ended but the two clubs reached an agreement to extend the stay for the rest of the season.

Thaele is one of the outstanding players at Gunners. He will once again be key against Comets who will rely on the experience and work-rate of midfielder, Bobo Motlhalane. On his day, Motlhalane is capable of destroying any opposition with his high work rate.

Having won the competition in 2007 with BMC when he was voted the Player-of-the-Series, his experience might just be what Comets need.

Just four days after they showed their resilience in the 3-3 draw with Mochudi Centre Chiefs in a league game, morale is very high in the Motlakase camp ahead of their clash against BDF XI. The Premier League rookies have made numerous signings recently and continue to search for players to bolster their squad. They have made their intentions clear to field some of the new faces on Sunday. For the first time, Motlakase will be playing in front of their own supporters since they got promoted to the Premier League.

In other games to be played on Sunday, Black Peril host Police XI in Tlokweng, Maphatshwa will lock horns with ECCO City Greens in Serowe, Letlapeng battle visiting Naughty Boys in Ramotswa while Greens Happy Hearts will have to show their mental strength when they face Chiefs at SSG Grounds.

Tomorrow, defending champions, Uniao Flamengo Santos will launch their title defence with a visit to Tonota FC. Santos has been consistent in the competition in the recent past playing in the last two finals. Resurgent Notwane will hope to carry their current scoring form to the cup when they face Prisons XI at Sharps Grounds.

The rest of the fixtures tomorrow are as follows: Combination Stars vs Gaborone United (Francistown Stadium), Tlokweng United vs Mogoditshane Fighters (Tlokweng VDC), Kang Western Swallows vs Nico United (Matsha College), Miscellaneous vs BMC (Serowe Sports Complex), Mochudi Buffaloes vs Great North Tigers (Buffaloes Ground), Gantsi Terrors vs TAFIC (Gantsi Terrors Ground), Mathaithai vs Boteti Young Fighters (Mathaithai Ground). All the games kick off at 3pm.
