Decentralise the Central District

The main reason I am writing this letter is to express my gratitude at the decentralization of the Central District Council by giving more power to the sub - districts such as Bobirwa Sub District.

I still feel that this is not enough as I still believe these should be given the full status of a full district which would be completely independent of Serowe. However the little that has been done is the beginning and my hope is that as the authorities realize the benefits of this action, they would relent and do away with this colonial mentality.

I only hope that our councillors would take advantage of this development and show their electorates that indeed they did not make a mistake by voting for them. In the previous situation it was a bit difficult as most decisions were made in Serowe where the number of councillors made it impossible for some to air their views.

To the authorities, I say 'this is a step in the right direction'. Lastly I would like to encourage the electorates to keep pressure on their representatives to deliver on the pledges they made to them during the last elections and to the representatives I say 'Consultation is the key to success'.
