The appointment provides Serufho with the platform to showcase his leadership skills after serving as Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) research and projects officer. What immediately comes to mind is the London 2012 Olympics, which should provide a stern leadership test for Serufho. The country needs to send a team that will not only make numbers, but compete.

Week's disappointmentCAF brew a shocker when it announced that Togo has been suspended for four years for what was termed 'political interference' in the country's withdrawal from the African Cup of Nations following a deadly attack on its national team. We are not privy to other details that CAF might have considered in coming up with the punishment. But it is very hard to justify the suspension. Did the Togo government err by simply telling its citizens to return home, as their safety was no longer guaranteed? Is it a crime to humbly request people you are supposed to protect, to return home and mourn their departed colleagues?
