Outside the pub the place was alive with red and white flags of Juju Boy, signaling that a huge occasion was about to begin. The sight of adoring fans showing off gothic facial paintings as well as gothic wear, was unmistakable.By 12 midnight the parking lot was over crowded, and the dance floor filled to capacity. Supporting acts on the evening such as rapper K.Boss also wore gothic stuff. K.Boss in particular even had two women dancers on stage playing with a long gothic chain tied around his neck.
Other rappers who came to support Juju Boy included Foster Juliano, previously known as Mista Doe, as well as Magosi.
The stage was also colourful, with special lights and dcor summing up the theme of the night, gothic. The man of the night eventually arrived on stage flanked by two 3rd Mind rappers Modise Modise and Presley Metshe Juju Boy wore the same glasses he appears with on the famous music video for the theme song. He also spotted the punk rock hair-do, and immediately dished out what every one had been waiting for , Hurt Me. It was a night to remember for both Juju Boy's fans and the musician. There is nothing more pleasing to a performer than the sight of fans singing along from the first to the last stanza. It was just that.
The youngster described the Bull and Bush show as the first proper show he has done since he launched his music career last year. ' Last year I was riding on other people's shows. Now it shows that the Juju Boy brand is receiving appreciation,' he said.
Commenting on the colourful night, Juju Boy said he had pulled all the stops because he did not want people to come to the show and get disappointed. 'There is a certain image my team and I wish to maintain, and we are getting there. From the radio interviews I made it was clear that people appreciate the music, but until now (the show) none of us knew the extent of this appreciation. It was both revealing and satisfying,' said a delighted Juju Boy. Now that his first proper show has been well received by Gaborone fans Juju Boy says he will take the colourful event to other parts of the country. ' There is no doubt the brand is growing, and we will visit other towns soon to give them a taste of what has happened at the Bull and Bush,' Juju Boy told Showbiz.
