Brigadier Cisco B to drop Makgarebe

The Sebina born artist last dropped Tshokolo, a house kwasa album which he said did not do according to his expectations due to some work commitment that disturbed Black Money Makers BMM, his former stable, from marketing and promoting the album even though it was a good piece.

Cisco B installment was quick to point out that although he has parted ways with BMM, he still has a good working relationship with his former stable as they still tour together during various local shows. 'In fact, I will also be part of BMM'S tour to the USA some time this year. As for the new album, I have roped in Dargie and Mbaki the Xtremist to do the engineering because I respect their studio quality as well as their expertise in the music industry,' he said. He said that his new album would have a lot of changes as he has gained experience by assisting various musicians of repute including Slyzer, Tsikitsiki by Slyzer le Vee and Captain Dira on their new albums.

'In my opinion, the current house kwasa which is in sync locally has lost value. As such, I am going to fuse in some new melodies, which will give house kwasa a new feel from the original one. I have co-written a number of songs in the above mentioned albums which is a clear sign that this time around I am dropping a scorcher to my fans as one way of thanking them for having rallied behind me over the past years,' he said.

Makgarebe, according to Cisco B, is a new dance style, which he refused to explained further for fear of being copied by his competitors.

'I have divulged my styles in the past before recording only to discover to my great shock that some artists had copied me. As such, Makgarebe is a closely guarded secret, which will only be known by my fans when the album is ready at the beginning of April,' he emphasised. Listening to the track Makgarebe, one is reminded of the good old days when musicians took their work seriously. The libretto and the beat harmonise therapeutically. Another track to look out for in the album is a track titled Sesole, which the artist said was composed from the love of soldiering on at BMM.

'At BMM, we have the morale similar to the one of soldiers and as such, I will still retain my self-promoted rank of Brigadier to keep the spirit on. A lot of people think that ke ne ke nyeletse, but I wasn't.

This time around, I am coming without  a bang and for good,' he said. On the notion that the music industry is dead, Cisco B rubbished the claim and pointed an accusing finger at the authorities for having shortened gig times. The album is a must have for music lovers as it will be a reminder of the good old days when artists took their music seriously. (Sila Press Agency)
