Santos partners with IT company

However, Santos' officials have not revealed how much they received from Information Technology Integrators (ITI) who has come on board as the club's partners. The officials said the IT company has assisted the club to make their trip to Mozambique a success.

ITI chief operations officer, Zeljko Brkovic told a media briefing in Gaborone on Monday that negotiations regarding the form of partnership are still underway. Brkovic said the focus is on assisting Santos with arrangements for the Mozambique trip. Santos' official, Matshidiso Kowa said the trip will benefit the team, which is made up mostly of youngsters.

'We have prepared hard for this game and we hope to get something out it,' he said. He added that they are prepared for the intimidating atmosphere in Mozambique. He said some of his players, through experience gained at national level, are used to hostile conditions.  Kowa said Santos is likely to get support from fans from Costa Do Sol's rivals. Santos' target is to reach the money-spinning group stages.

The club has signed former BMC duo - goalkeeper Chenjerai Dube and defender Thabo Mothibi - ahead of the Mozambique trip.

Santos has organised transport for supporters who wish to travel to Maputo. Each supporter will pay P500 for a return trip while accommodation in Maputo range from R120 to R600. The buses will leave Gaborone on February 12 at 5pm and arrive in Maputo the following day. The game takes place on February 14. The buses leave Mozambique soon after the game.
