Mothibi must quit BNOC-Kemoeng

BNSC executive secretary, Kitso Kemoeng said Mothibi must leave BNOC after the council gave her a job. 'This is a straight forward matter, Mothibi has to quit,' Kemoeng said.

He asserted that they cannot apply the regulations selectively. Kemoeng said Mothibi is aware that she has to quit her BNOC post as she indicated to the interviewing panel.

He stated that Mothibi told the panel she will leave the post if she got the BNSC job. Kemoeng would not say when they expect Mothibi to leave her BNOC post but hopes that it will be soon.

'Mothibi might have some assignments that she was still doing for the BNOC at the time we employed her. Naturally, we do not expect her to dump them just like that,' he explained.

He said the council is not fighting with BNOC and the issue will be resolved amicably. 'We believe she has a responsibility to hand over in the right way,' he added.

He said such cases are not common between the two bodies.

Moses Moruise of BNOC said there is nothing they can do if the BNSC insists that Mothibi quits her job. 'We do not know what her terms of service are,' Moruise said.

He added that if Mothibi was in the BNSC executive committee, she did not have to quit her position at BNOC. He said in the meantime, Mothibi's position at BNOC will remain vacant until the next elections. The BNOC constitution does not allow co-opting officials.
