My Star Family Day huge success

Scores and scores of Francistown residents and their children flocked to the hotel, as they wanted to see the stars they usually see only on television. The entertainment-starved northern city became alive as all roads led to the Marang Hotel.

Family fun day and live entertainment by the various stars.

Sesinyi says the day's objectives were realised.

'Everything went superbly as planned. It was the first time we had these guys performing live and they did a marvelous job,' he said.

Master Dee told Mmegi Showbiz that the attendance by Francistown residents was also impressive. He further said that the aim was to get the stars to perform live so as to boost their confidence and also help create employment opportunities for other young Batswana.

'We also wanted them to show that they could perform live band and help create jobs for more young stars,' he added.  He said that at the end of the day the whole objective of the day was achieved: to have My Stars spending the day with families and children and performing live.

My Star previous winners Tebogo Tlhagadikgora and Kitso Selato were among the performers at the colourful event. They were accompanied by last year's runners- up, who also performed live.  Some of the country's top celebrities who came to grace the day included Shumba, and Sly.

Currently, My Star competition organisers are conducting auditions around the country.
