Bosele Declaration manual comes into force

Over the weekend, the BFA held a meeting with club representatives to discuss the manual and it was agreed that it must be followed. Botswana Premier League (BPL) general manager, Phuthego Setete said that some of the items discussed and included in the manual are the number of people allowed in the technical area. He said clubs were reminded at the weekend meeting that only the coach, his two assistants and two medical personnel should sit on the bench within the technical area.

'There is a tendency by some club officials to sit on the bench as well as the technical area and we made them aware that it is against the manual,' he said.

The meeting highlighted the need for clubs to be aware of the colours of their home and away kits to avoid the clash of colours that usually occur at some Premier Leagues games. Phuthego said that clubs are now aware that they should bring two sets of kits for games. He said in instances where a match is delayed or cancelled because the colours of the kits clashed, appropriate action will be taken against the offenders.  He said clubs were happy that the meeting took place because they were made aware of the important things they took for granted.

Coaches are said to have been relieved that certain requirements had been clarified to their employers. Other important requirements of the manual include the pre-match meetings to agree on things like colour variations and security before kick-off.
