Nchindo's vehicle found...but he is still missing

 

* Disappearance reported by family*Nchindo armed when he was last seen?

After a two-day search, a party of police and security officers late yesterday discovered the abandoned vehicle of missing former Debswana Managing Director, Louis Goodwill Nchindo, but curiously he was nowhere to be found.

The vehicle, which was locked, was found in the forest behind Masedi Farms in Pandamatenga.The Masedi Farms project was previously owned by Debswana and was one of Nchindo's pet projects while he was Debswana Managing Director.

Mmegi is reliably informed by security officers at the scene that they were to camp out at the site last night and resume the search for Nchindo this morning.

Nchindo was last seen on Sunday but his disappearance was reported to the police on Monday afternoon. Although police could neither confirm nor deny it, there are reports that the matter was reported by Nchindo's son Louis Garvas.

District Administration Officer for Chobe District Benson Mphinyane yesterday confirmed Nchindo's disappearance to Mmegi.

Mphinyane has indicated that the Nchindo family reported the matter to Kasane Police Station on Monday. 'His family said they could not get through to him on his phones from the afternoon of Sunday' says Mphinyane. The rest of the afternoon the Nchindo family continued their attempts to get in touch with him without much success.

Nchindo is believed to have left for Kasane on Friday where he arrived safely. However his workers in Kazungula last saw him on Sunday afternoon. Nchindo is said to have left in a Toyota Hilux 4x4 plate number B 610 AKM.

'His workers at home in Kazungula tell us that he left his house sometime on Sunday afternoon' adds Mphinyane.

There are reports indicating that he had a gun in his possession when he left his Kazungula home on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile Botswana Police Service spokesperson, senior superintendent Dipheko Motube denied knowledge of anything to that effect. he nevertheless  implored the public to assist in helping locate Nchindo.
