But the faction is consulting on the feasibility of forming a new party. Speculation is rife that the A-Team faction want the trio - attorney Sidney Pilane, MP Botsalo Ntuane and Kabo Morwaeng expelled from the party.

Speaking to Mmegi on condition of anonymity recently, a leading Barata-Phathi member said they were consulting throughout the country to 'consider options available', among them to break ranks to form a new party.

'If that happened, it should be clear that it would the decision of Barata-phathi across the country,' the man said.

Another factional matter expected to be discussed at the meeting is a report by Vice-President Mompati Merafhe after his visit to the BDP Francistown region where he went to investigate charges levelled against A-Team councillors during mayoral elections there.

When asked about the agenda of the meeting, BDP Executive Secretary Dr Comma Serema said the main item will be an audit report on the party's performance during the general elections last year.  Regarding the three Barata-Phathi members, Comma said 'it will just be a report to update the committee on the issue'.
