Trial date for alleged serial robber set

Botsi faces multiple counts of armed robbery, burglary, unlawful wounding as well as escaping from lawful custody.Kefitile was arrested late last year at Ga-kgatla post office when he was attempting to steal old pensioners’ funds.Before he was arrested, it is alleged that he shot and wounded a Trojan security officer in Molepolole on October 8.

It is also alleged that on August 28, Kefitile robbed the Afro Butchery in Molepolole of cash amounting to P13, 000. He robbed Score Supermarket of P3, 000 and the Caltex Filling Station of P6, 000 at gunpoint.

The police are still looking for another dangerous suspect, Michael Mogome, who is still at large. He is alleged to have shot and injured two people during an armed robbery in Molepolole.

During the period July 5 to 7 this year, Kefitile is expected to come before Village Chief Magistrate Barnabas Nyamadzabo for another case. On March 10, Kefitile together with Omphitlhetse Namanyane and Ofentse Motlogelwa are alleged to have robbed Caltex Filling Station in Mogoditshane of cash amounting to P18 000, airtime worth P7 735, two cellphones worth P1 300 and P230 respectively.

Kefitile is also a suspect in numerous offences ranging from attempted murder, armed robberies and house break-ins.

He is suspected to be the person who has been terrorising the business community in Molepolole. In one of the offences, Kefitile and others still at large are alleged to have shot and injured a businessman of Indian origin as well as a Zimbabwean man at Smart Foods Restaurant in Molepolole, October last year.
