Lovely Miss Fat in Phikwe

The Miss Fat But Beautiful Pageant was held at the Bowling club on Saturday with the sole aim of consicentising the society to appreciate the  big body frames and stop demeaning fat people.  The organiser of the contest, Joyce Phindile Noge told Showtime that she wanted to give fat women a chance to show the society that they are proud of their bodies.

Noge mentioned that she expected her church mates to assist her with funds to record her album but that has been an impossible dream. She stated that she intends to take the Miss Fat Pageant to other villages surrounding Selibe-Phikwe such as Mmadinare in the near future.

The Pageant was won by Gaomodimo Robson, first princess was Gomotsegang Dipogiso and the third princess was Dynah Gaoilelwe. 'It is high time the society appreciates that fat women are also beautiful.  They must not be made to feel bad about their bodies. In most instances, fat women are stared at when they walk in public and some people go to the extent of teasing them. That is being unfair and I hope through contests such as these one, the mindset of the community will change for the better,' said Noge. She added that the members of the community must also admit that people were made different and everyone has their own shapes.
