Botswana Post partner with CEDA

Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two organisations last Friday, BotswanaPost will be tasked with the distribution and collection of application and business forms, and with availing brochures on CEDA products and services between Ghantsi and Maun.

CEDA's Deputy Chief of Operations, Thabo Thamane, said given BotswanaPost's wide footprint in the country, the partnership means a lot to their service delivery.

'Statement delivery to customers will be efficiently packaged and delivered to customers to avoid unnecessary delays,' Thamane said.

He added that CEDA would look into other strategic areas that can be used to better serve Batswana in collaboration with BotswanaPost as the partnership deepens. The Business Development Director at BotswanaPost, Cornelius Ramatlhakwane, said his organisation is instrumental in providing a platform for ease of access to services by all citizens across the country, which will make this partnership worthwhile.

Ramatlhakwane said in addition to the traditional movement of items, BotswanaPost is also mandated to provide universal services for everyone countrywide. It is also empowered to enter into bilateral agreements with other service providers in line with its mandate.

This partnership follows on others that BotswanaPost has already entered into, among them distribution of the Daily News on behalf of the government, payment of old age pensions, sales of airtime for all mobile operators, renewal of vehicle registration licences at selected post offices, and collection of Mosako funeral scheme premiums on behalf of Botswana Life Insurance Company.

The MoU will be implemented immediately.
