Tawana in public appeal to rescue Motswaledi

Tawana told Matlho-a-Phage presenter, Thebeyame Ramoroka,  last Sunday's programme that members of the public should not fold their arms and watch Motswaledi's goods auctioned when the case he lost was in their interests.

Tawana's plea comes in the wake of reports that deputy sheriffs recently attached Motswaledi's property to settle legal costs he incurred after he lost a case in which he challenged President Ian Khama's constitutional powers.

Tawana and another BDP legislator, Mmoloki Raletobana, were the BDP members who attended a meeting at the Big Five Lodge in Mogoditshane that led to the formation of the BMD.

The two subsequently somersaulted and remained in the BDP when the BMD was officially launched.

At the Mogoditshane meeting, Tawana reportedly said forming a new party was the only way out for the embattled Barata-Phathi faction of the BDP, saying he had told President Ian Khama that he would not contest the 2014 general election on a BDP ticket.
