Gabonamong out of Togo game as Ohilwe disappears

The player returned to the Zebras fold last week after keeping-off for some time claiming that the BFA does not want to address his demands that include appearance fees and insurance cover.

But yesterday, Zebras' coach Stanley Tshosane told Mmegi Sport that the Engen Santos' midfielder was not in the squad for the weekend game.

'Mogogi will not be part of the squad to face Togo as he is still negotiating (for his return) with BFA,' the coach explained.

He refuted reports that together with some players, he is against the return of the gritty midfielder. There has been speculation that a revolt is looming in the Zebras' camp because of Gabonamong's return.

'I really don't understand why people think that Mogogi's return will bring a negative influence. I never said that when he returns today, he will play tomorrow.

Once Mogogi reaches an agreement with BFA, I will have to monitor his performance first. He is a good player and every coach would like to have him in his team,' Tshosane said.

He added that there is no reason for players to give Gabonamong a cold reception. 'They have played with him in the past. In fact, they were happy to hear that he is returning,' he said.

The coach said he was not involved in negotiations to bring back the former Township Rollers' player to the national team. The BFA has been coy about the conditions of the player's return to the Zebras.

Meanwhile, right back, Musa Ohilwe will not be available for the Togo game because he is abroad for trials.

The Gaborone United (GU) defender reportedly slipped out of the country last week to attend trials in Greece.

Tshosane said he does not know where the player is and he has informed the BFA.

Though two players, Ndiyapo Letsholathebe and Mosimanegape 'Twizer' Ramohibidu returned from the weekend games with slight knocks, Tshosane was confident that they will take part in today's training session.

Togo are expected to arrive on Friday without want-away Manchester City forward, Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Zebras lead Group 11 with seven points while Togo will be looking for their first win after two draws.
