Welcome to Botswana song & dance returns to Maitisong

Welcome to Botswana is described as a professional musical theatre and narrative story at its exhilarating best narrated by Beauty Marumo.  The production has brought together 16 of the finest performing artists and performers to provide a show of Broadway, quality to take on tour locally and internationally.

According to a brief about the production,  Welcome to Botswana is a concept created to keep the underprivileged and unemployed youth and artists from the streets and give them a chance to live a dream.  This dream will become a reality for many of the Welcome to Botswana cast members.  The production has introduced to the world what Botswana has to offer 'from the Okavango Delta and the Chobe, two of the most prominent tourism attractions, to the sand dunes of  the Kalahari, to the beautiful rocks out crops of the Tuli and Tsodilo Hills, to our diamonds mining of Orapa and Jwaneng, to our legends and forefathers of this land and our rich culture where they dance like demons and sing like angels'.  The production  was written by Edward Moroka described as a hardworking and dedicated artist.  He is an actor, producer and writer who started his career as performing artist skills in 1996 with Magosi Dedicated Artists.  He would later join the Peo Youth Club where he learnt  a number of skills such as Theatre for Development Skills, Directing Skills, Acting Skills, Play Making Skills. Edward is the founding member of Stop Smoking Support Group coordinated by Ministry of Health under Environmental Health Unit that they establish in 2002 and he has been appointed the Chairman of the association since then.
