The two artists have over a long period of time combined very well on stage, leaving local fans yearning for more. It is a fact that their combination on stage was a force to reckon with across the country. Whenever Vee performed, Cisco B was a vital cog as he jacked up or electrified the stage with his catchy kwasa raps and dances.
But the situation is no longer the same as the two are reportedly not in good working terms for reasons not known except by the two artists or their confidants. According to a reliable source, who used to work with the two kwasa-kwasa whizz-kids, the already fragile relationship between the two men took a turn for the worst when Vee decided - from the blues - not to invite Cisco B to his Gaborone launch of ZAZA 2010 as many fans expected.
'When Vee did not rope in Cisco B during his ZAZA 2010 launch on July 30 at Lizard Lounge, I knew that something must have terribly gone wrong. Vee went on to perform during his launch, but it was not the same, as his stage choreography was not up to scratch to match his combination with Brigadier,' the source revealed.
Following this allegation, this writer went to Biza Mupulu's CD and DVD launch - where Vee was billed to perform - to verify the information.
Fortunately, before Vee arrived at the venue, his former partner was spotted chilling out among the fans. When Vee was called onto the stage, Brigadier remained rooted to his spot as if nothing was happening. As if that were not enough Vee went on to perform but with little energy, thus disappointing most of his fans who are used to their magical combination.
Immediately after performing, Vee was spotted briefly greeting Brigadier before whizzing away from Che Ntemba country club outside Mogoditshane.
When contacted for comment, Cisco B did not explain as to why the two have parted ways. Instead, he stated that he wanted his own space, as he was busy recording his brand new album titled Makgarebe.
'I have worked with Vee and that is simply that and I cannot rule out the possibility of working with him in the future. We are currently at loggerheads and it's just another passing phase like any other phase in the music industry,' he said.
He further explained that they would resolve their differences amicably without washing their dirty linen in public. Vee on the other hand was evasive when confronted about their rocky relationship. The pint-sized musician flatly dismissed the story as unfounded rumour. 'Cisco B and I are still partners it's only that we have decided to have our own space to rediscover ourselves once again. Yes, we might not have performed together recently but that does not mean that we are not on good books,' Vee said before hanging up.
ZAZA 2010 will be launched in Francistown on September 4 and it will remain to be seen as to whether the two artists will work together.
For Brigadier Cisco B, Francistown is logically his hometown and without any doubt, he wouldn't miss the show, as it will give him home ground advantage over Vee. But the million-dollar question is: Are local fans going to the see the two artists back together on stage?
