Letshego launches Motlhala campaign

'If you want to send your child to school, upgrade your car or buy a new house you need to know how much you can afford to pay back, or save, every week so that you can reach your life goals without putting too much stress on your lifestyle,' Communications and Marketing Officer of Letshego, Keneilwe Matseke said.

Letshego loans have enabled a large number of households that were traditionally excluded from the formal financial system, to have access to credit, in the form of personal loans that has allowed them to better their circumstances.

'We have empowered many citizens who were marginalised and given them the opportunity to fight poverty and face the future with confidence,' Matseke said.

Long term Letshego client Pinky Seithamo agrees and believes that without Letshego she and her family would still struggle.

'Letshego has made a big difference and helped me and my family a lot over the years. I have built my home, put my child through school and bought a car with Letshego finance,' she said.

Through the Motlhala campaign Letshego wants to show families and individuals that, there are many things they can do to improve their financial situation and meet their obligations, such as creating a household budget.

'What everyone needs to do is to create a budget, which can be as simple as writing down each expense and keeping track of it for a month. Often this simple budget exercise is a great eye opener and a great way to recapture money that has been leaking out of your pocket.'

The Motlhala campaign will encourage citizens to make realistic plans, stick to budgets and understand the value of loan repayment.

'Through this campaign Letshego is hoping to further help people better themselves and make positive life changes,' Matseke said.
