Be Mobile Launches New Products

The announcement was made by BTC Group Communications Manager, Golekanye Molapisi, at a media briefing at Lekidi Football Centre in Gaborone recently.

Molapisi said the BTC group, which is made up of Telecomms, Botsnet and be MOBILE, will be taking its retail outlets to the show where customers will be able to pay their bills, buy and apply for products and services at their stall. It will also unveil their new P30 airtime voucher at the fair. 'The new scratch card comes as a response to our customers' repeated requests for an airtime denomination between the P20 and the P50 ones,' Molapisi said. 'We understand how convenient this airtime voucher will be for our clients, hence its introduction,'

In addition, be MOBILE will also have a package called SIMPLUS on offer. The package comes with a P20 airtime to call all networks, 100 free local SMSs and five free premium SMSs to get Premier League scores. The public will also have an opportunity to purchase cellphones at competitive prices at the fair. A Nokia 1202 will retail for P235 and a Samsung E1105 for P255.

Still at the fair, there will be electronic sale of airtime and other BTC Group products and Internet packages on offer. An Internet caf will be set up for people to browse the net while at the fair.

Another new service called Mobile Office Manager (MOM) will be introduced to the mobile operator's Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMME) clients. The service will allow a minimum of five lines with customers communicating for free between themselves using short codes while paying a fixed monthly rate.

be MOBILE, which sponsors the Premier League, also used the briefing to launch a five-a-side football tournament, which will feature retired players from Premier League clubs.

The be MOBILE network is the largest supporter of football in Botswana, having committed to a P15 million three-year sponsorship that ends next year.
