Shanty lo to answer drug charge

Assistant Superintendent, Opelo Ntshwarelang, of Ramatlabama police has confirmed that they have a case in which Shanti Lo and a friend were arrested at the border crossing into South Africa.

The police have sent the suspect package to the laboratory and can not say with certainty yet what the substance is.

The talented singer and friend found themselves on the wrong side of the law in June at a roadblock that the police had mounted during the FIFA World Cup.

Ntshwarelang said Shanti Lo, real name Tumediso Loeto was a passenger in the car and they are still yet to confirm whom between Shanti Lo and the friend owns the drug.  Ntshwarelang said though Shanti Lo was a passenger he also has a case to answer.

He said 10grams suspected to be an illegal drug was wrapped in a plastic bag in the boot of car in which they were riding.

If found guilty the two can be sentenced to jail for two or more years or pay a fine of not less than P2,000 or both.
