'I am a born-again Christian'- Vee

Speaking exclusively to Showbiz in an interview, the artist said although a lot of people know him as an artist, they are not aware that he has been a 'born-again' since his junior secondary school days.

Quizzed why he chose to be a Christian he said, 'I was satisfied with what Christianity could offer me and I therefore felt that it was the path that I should follow,' said Vee who is a member of the interdenominational True Bread Centre.

So steep is the artist in Christianity that he used to minister the word to the people while he was still a member of the Scripture Union, converting many people in the process.  According to the pint-sized star, back in those days, he could easily spend days in isolation 'seeking the face of the Lord'.  Vee, who is a charismatic Christian, further said that he believes in prayer, fasting, giving tithes and offerings.

Although at the beginning of his career, he backslid because he felt that Pentecostal Christians were not willing to accommodate him as a secular artist, he is now back in the pulpit and he has ministered a number of times, but this time around through song.

'I have some gospel songs that I normally sing when I am performing, but I also sing secular songs at some churches depending on the situation,' he said adding that he always ministers free of charge at churches.

Vee further said unlike other artists, he does not use alcohol and drugs for inspiration because he believes in the power of prayer.

He said that as someone who strongly believes in the Bible, he also avoids temptation of bedding different women adding that that is the reason why he is still involved with his fiancee whom he intents to marry soon.

Vee's spiritual mentor, Prophet Ketlaading Molefinyane, told Showbiz that although 'Christianity is the matter of the heart', he has seen the passion that the young artist has for his Christian belief.

'Whenever Vee is free, he spends some hours with me and we pray and meditate upon the word,' Molefinyane asserted.

According to Prophet Molefinyane, Vee is one of the few people that he can confidently share with 'the heart of God'.  The man of the cloth further said that there is nothing wrong with one being a secular artist as long as he or she lives according to Christian principles.

Another thing that some people do not know about the artist is that he is a businessman who has invested in a number of business ventures such as Black Money Makers, MaVeeta, La Vee, Anno Domin, Vee Wear and BMM Clothing.
