Former Bay duo tip Marumo to succeed

The goalkeeper has just joined Bay United where Maposa and Moloi had a loan stint last season, helping the club to a second-place finish. They are convinced the Zebras number one will shine at the club coached by compatriot David Bright. The veteran goalkeeper signed for the Port Elizabeth outfit this week and left on Wednesday afternoon to join his new teammates ahead of the season opener this weekend.

Moloi believes the experience Marumo gained from playing in Egypt will come in handy.

'He has played in Egypt, which I believe is a much more competitive league, and settling in South Africa should not be a big deal for him,' Moloi told Mmegi Sport. The former BDF XI shot-stopper had a stint in Egypt where he turned out for Haras El Hodoud for two seasons. He had to return after Egyptian football authorities banned foreign goalkeepers to pave way for locals. Moloi said he spoke to Marumo before he left. 'We had a chat before he left and I realised there is little one can give as advice to a man like him. He has all the experience, he is a big guy and I know he will do well for Bay,' he said.

Zebras' second choice goalkeeper, Maposa was in action for the former premiership side last season and got some rave reviews. Maposa is an ardent admirer of Marumo. He is convinced that Marumo will do well in South Africa. He believes his immediate challenge would be to quickly adapt to the windy weather in Port Elizabeth.
