Capital Motors tournament reaches crucial stage

Duels between the two armed forces clubs never disappoint and tomorrow's confrontation is not expected to be an exception. Under the tutelage of former Diphatsa mentor, Daniel Ngozi, Police have shown a huge improvement in the recent past. It remains to be seen how the youthful Police will cope with the experience of BDF VI players. BDF VI have always dominated Police and the last time they met in the Mascom League, the army side won 3-1.

BDF VI coach Selebatso Mabutho acknowledged the mammoth task ahead, although he remains confident his side will emerge tops. He said most of his key players are injured but those who are available will do the job. He said though they have always dominated Police, they have never beaten them with a convincing margin. Mabutho is confident that his team will go all the way and defend the title.

Ngozi said although BDF VI is an experienced and feared side, he has tried to calm his players ahead of the tie.He said they aim to elimanate the defending champions.

'When you go out to fight, you go only with a mission to win,' he said. He added that they are aware of BDF VI's strength and weaknesses.

In other men's games, Kutlwano is expected to proceed to the semi-final when they face Victory Seekers. The game between Mafolofolo and Kalavango can go either way.

Diphatsa and Spartans will fight in a battle of northern sides in the last match. The winners will meet in the semi-finals later in the day.

In the women's category, Kutlwano and Mafolofolo have qualified for the semis and the two sides meet tomorrow to decide who finishes top of the standings.

The other semi-finalists will be known when Diphatsa meet BDF VI in an all army affair with Kalavango taking on Spartans.

The final in both men and women categories will be held on September 11 at Otse Police College.
