BNF to meet for additional members of CC

In an interview with Mmegi, BNF Secretary General Akanyang Magama said the nomination of the three members is the prerogative of the party president. He added that he expects one man and two women to be named to the politburo.

Another matter on the agenda is the Tonota North by-election where Magama said the politburo will be sending teams of activists to help the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) candidate, Dr Habaudi Hubona.

'Other issues are internal party matters like administrative ones,' he said.

A youth activist in the party has revealed that some people who lost central committee elections might be roped in as additional members, while others could be slotted into sub-committees of the central committee.

The names of sub-committee members are also expected to be unveiled at the politburo meeting.
