Capital Motors action moves to Gaborone

Defending champions, Kutlwano are in Pool A with Spartans, Diphatsa, Prisons and Spiking Stars, while Pool B has Mafolofolo, Kalavango, Chobe, BDF VI, Dynamites and Magstimela.

Kutlwano are confident that they will retain the title. Their coach, Isaac Samuel predicts that his charges will sail through to the knock-out stage.

The top three teams in each pool will progress to the knock-out phase.

Samuel said his team's focus is already on the semi finals and though they respect the teams in their pool, they do not fear them. 'Diphatsa is the only team that can pose a threat to us. We have been preparing well for the competition,' he said.

Kutlwano, Diphatsa and Spartans are tipped to make it to the next round from Pool A. In Pool B, last year's runners-up, Mafolofolo are favoured to go through with Kalavango and BDF VI.

The semi-finals for both men and women's competitions will be played next weekend.

Eight men's teams have already qualified for the quarterfinals after the group stage matches in Francistown last weekend. The quarterfinalists are Kutlwano, Mafolofolo, Diphatsa, Police, BDF VI, Kalavango, Spartans and Victory Seekers. Winners in men and women competitions will each receive P10,000 while runners-up take home P6,000.

Capital Motors has sponsored the tournament with P300,000 for the next two years.
