Sweswe cautions Dynamos

Ahead of the confrontation, ex-Dynamos defender, Thomas Sweswe, who now plies his trade at South African giants Kaizer Chiefs has warned his former club to be wary of Gaborone. GU claimed the scalp of another South African giant Orlando Pirates in the preliminary round and Sweswe told Dynamos to watch out if they want to avoid an upset.

'The game against Gaborone United is not going to be easy because we all know what they are capable of,' he told Mmegi Sport from his Johannesburg base.

'The fact that they (GU) have come this far shows that they are a good team so Dynamos should guard against complacency.'

Sweswe was part of the Dynamos' team that reached the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament two years ago.

 He is confident that Dynamos will eliminate GU from the competition.

'Dynamos' chances of reaching the league phase are high because they always do well in the competition.

 Every time the team participates in Africa, they always reach the league stage,' he said.

The former Zimbabwe league champions were runners up in 1998.

Meanwhile, Dynamos' coach Elvis Chiweshe told a Zimbabwean daily The Herald that he has respect for GU. 'We are not underrating Gaborone United at all. Our goal still remains to go as far.

The fact that Gaborone United have reached this far means that they have to be respected too.

This is Champions League,' Chiweshe said.Dynamos will be at home for the first leg on the weekend of April 25.
