According to Masey, the song is about current trends in which some young women believe in handouts and financial support. The man who released Stocko Le Magomsha last year continues to address the issue of blessers in the new track.

The blesser is a popular term for older men who financial sponsor young women’s lavish lifestyles.

Masey further told Showbiz that he met Mckenzie after a tour and they decided to sit down and discuss a way forward.

“That’s when we started working on the song. Mackenzie is relevant for the Botswana market because he sings in Setswana and most can remember him from Rhythmic Elements and DJ Maphorisa’s (stint in) Monate Potleng,” he said. Masey said when they came up with the song he was looking at both the local market as well as the North West market in South Africa.  He said his previous songs did not make a huge impact in the market therefore with his new song he wants to make his presence felt hence the collaboration with McKenzie.

The talented producer said he has always been a DJ since the age of 14, but he only started recording in 2012.

He said he has collaborated with many local artists since his debut in the music industry.  Masey, however, said there is still a lot of work to be done.

“People have to know who Darkboy Masey is. It’s a work in progress and gaps have to be filled. He said he has already shot the video track and it will be released soon.

“I worked with Gorilla Films, which is a film production company specialising in the music video industry,” he said.
