The deal is worth P150,000. Evolia director, Maokaneng Bontshetse said the sponsorship is their contribution towards ensuring the club sustains its status in the top league.

“This is our part to help the team succeed in its mission in the Premiership. We will be fully in charge of TAFIC’s wardrobe for the next 12 months and we hope this is going to be a winning partnership,” Bontshetse said.

“We must also acknowledge that this is ndipe ndi kupe; it’s a two-way relationship. TAFIC is a huge brand and we are sure of mileage,” he added.

Matjimenyenga’s marketing manager, Rapula Gaotlhobogwe encouraged the supporters to be visible as they rally behind the club. “Now is the time that we should own the streets. The city should be painted red and we must remain visible until after the weekend game against Rollers.

“This is an encouraging partnership that we should support so that it grows further and further and we commend Evolia Sportswear,” Gaothobogwe said.

At the launch the club unveiled new players; Makai Kawashu, Samuel Phiri, Ocean Mpofu, Kerapetse Mosimanewakgosi, Kgakgamatso Ramatshosa, Lesego Bosekeng, Obakeng Gaanabeng, Bokamoso Mbambo, Lungisanyi Fanyane and Agang Batenegi.

Meanwhile, Matjimenyenga’s ‘Building Champions’ campaign that aims to raise P100,000 before the league starts this weekend has hit top gear. The initiative was rolled out last week Wednesday. The initial expectation was for companies to contribute at least P1,000 each to raise P100,000 before the league kicks-off on September 23.

On the sidelines of the launch, Gaotlhobogwe said the response to the campaign has surpassed their expectations. He said they received donations both in cash and in kind and they have managed to raise more than half of their target.

“The response is overwhelming. We have gone vigorous on the campaign here in Francistown and so far so good. I believe we are approximately at P70,000,” he said.

“Already we have managed to raise P20,000 in cash and we have received donations of 30 soccer boots from one company and P5,000 worth of soccer balls from the other. Other companies have also pledged to fully cover logistics for our away camps and that is not cheap.” Gaotlhobogwe said the campaign has also proved popular with the supporters who continue to avail themselves to serve during the exercise.

He said they are yet to roll out the campaign nationally. He also said with the overwhelming response, the campaign will continue beyond this weekend.
