Man arraigned for alleged fatal stabbing

 

Modo said that the stabbing incident resulted when the two men got into a misunderstanding that lead to the deadly end for one of them. He said at the scene they found the victim still conscious and rushed him to Julia Molefhe Block 9 Clinic where he was later referred to Princess Marina Hospital.

“We have arrested the 28-year-old man alleged to have stabbed another with a knife and he is currently in custody. The suspect was arraigned yesterday at Village Magistrate Court for the offence of murder.  On Saturday, we received a report from the hospital informing us that the youthful man lost his life due to the wounds he sustained from the stabbing,” Modo said. He said that the cause of their fight is not yet known, but investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Meanwhile, the police are investigating a theft of a Honda Fit belonging to a cab company that was stolen on Saturday night. He said that the driver of the cab received a phone call at around 11:30pm in whicha caller from Broadhurst purportedly requested service to be dropped at Phase IV.

“The cab driver said he rushed to Broadhurst, picked up the customer, but on the way when they were about to reach Phase IV, the customer instructed him to stop the car. He got out and pulled the driver out of the car, pushing him down before driving away with the car,” Modo said.

He said that the following day (on Sunday) the police recovered the car abandoned in the bush near Kia Motors without the battery and wheels.

Modo said that since it was at night and the imposter who posed as a customer sat at the back, so the cab driver said he could not memorise his face.
