This Motswako collection performance is a pre-independence day celebration, which is on Saturday. “Since its an independence celebration we decided to take it to the roots by bringing Tswana OG rappers who are also ideal acts to our target market of mature young adults here at Chez Nicolas,” Trauma, who spearheads events at the venue said.

The trio has been pushing Motswako for close to 2 decades as part of groups and on solo.

Scar, who is a regular face in the local music industry and at Chez Nicolas, where he is also part of the events technical team, is expected to perform his latest single Dimakatso for the first time. Tuks Senganga has over the years produced timeless hits such as 525 600 Minutes and Bo Fela. Towdeemac has also been holding it down since the days of Merafhe up until now as a solo artist.

“We will open up the venue for more space. We are anticipating a huge crowd for the event, and we have since merged Liban with Chez Nicolas to make it a lounge which will be the VIP and stage area.”

Trauma stated that the event would be free up to 7pm when doors close for cover charge.  “As usual when an international artist comes we work on an exchange programme that will see them collaborating with a local artist. We are yet to announce the artist that will collaborate with these two Motswako acts”.

The last time Tuks Senganga was in the country he worked on a track with Scar, which was packaged into the South African rapper’s album.

Apart from Motswako, the OGs will share the stage with local DJs Izzy, Ash and Scratch. Trauma also said they are working on taking the Hip Hop and RnB Live Sessions Amplified to South Africa especially in the North West region.
