Local rappers debut at Scrambles4Money

The two rappers have been staging competitive battles in the local Warzone battle rap where they are highly ranked. They join Blain and L The Street Poet who are regular performers at the South African event. “Its really awesome to be one of the people battling during the event, I feel quite excited. When I get that side I want show them what Botswana cats are capable of doing,” Ill Law said.

The rapper stated that he received the invitation to contest at the event after the Scrambles4Money: Talk is Cheap 5 saw one of his videos battling at the Warzone and they were impressed. He will be battling Zimbabwean rapper, Siri Boy who has been battling it out in one of the rap battle leagues in his country dubbed the Da-Grape-Vine Rap Battle.

“I have been doing research on my opponent. Research is vital prior to going on a battle. He is just an okay battle rapper. I am going to zip up that guy. It will also be independence day in our country and I want to hoist our flag up high,” he said.

In the local rap battle Warzone, Ill Law has experienced the test of life after battling the top flight rappers such as Blain, Osama Bin Chaplin and L The Street Poet, which has left him with four losses and four wins in his battle career. Osama Bin Chaplin who has an unbeaten streak in the local league will be facing celebrated South African battle rapper, Demon who is not an easy target.

“I am ready for my opponent. I have what it takes to take him down. I have enough respect for him. I am just going to bring more fire and take him down,” the fearless Osam Bin Chaplin told Showbiz in an interview.

He said he is perfecting his act for the battle indicating that by next week he would be fully prepared to take on Demon. Osama Bin Chaplin’s rap battle ability became more aggressive a few months back when he won against Blain who is the only Motswana who has an unbeaten streak in international battles.

Both Ill Law and Osama Bin Chaplin are confident that after this international gig they will start to receive more calls to battle outside the country.

Warzone commander Selby Muir expressed excitement to see more local rappers battling on international stages, stating that by next year he would love to see at least 10 Botswana rappers on the international stage.
