Wanderers that nearly relegated last season have since roped in their former technical director, Benedict Bayane to replace Bright.

Team spokesperson, Kesetseekae Molefhe told Mmegi Sport they are prepared to compete this season after lessons from their debut campaign.

“The person that we have appointed as our head coach has got a wealth of experience in coaching. He once coached teams like Motlakase Power Dynamos, TAFIC, amongst others. So he is a qualified coach whom we believe shall bring the desired results,” Molefhe said.

“The national team has robbed us of a man whom we still expected a lot from but we shall ensure that his departure does not affect the team’s results.”

Meanwhile, Molefhe added that the club has tried its best to replace some of the key players who left during the off-season.

The team lost the nine players including captain, Percy More who signed with Township Rollers, striker Oaitse Boipelo who went to Gaborone United, Jerry Loeto, key striker Godiarone Zeco Modigwane who joined Security Systems and their goalkeeper, Ontiretse Kolobe who is now at Jwaneng Galaxy.

Some of Wanderers’ new signings include Onkgolotse Senatla from Systems, Kgololo Kgogobi from Extension Gunners, BR Highlanders’ Tshepo ‘Schoolboy’ Molefhe, Ontiretse Moroko, Ronald Gabaatholwe from Notwane, Lesego Matoteng from Mahalapye Hotspurs and defensive midfielder Comfort Dikupa from Real Movers.

Molefhe said the postponement of the start of the league was an added advantage to allow them to finish their preparations. He said the experience they gained playing in the First Division for the first time last season after 38 years in the lower leagues, worked for them.

He said Pilikwe will remain their home ground after they failed to find common ground with rivals, Motlakase in renovating Swallows grounds, hence the decision to move their home games to the Pilikwe ground.
