KAST�s Tlatsa Ghetto a big flop

The festival attracted a paltry crowd and was marred by technical hiccups that disrupted performances leaving revelers agitated.
Despite the low attendance, the show started well with hip hop performances from the duo of Buckshot and Que Rap activating the patches of revelers.
Mc Maswe’s beauty queens and other Francistown based artists, spin masters in the likes of Colastraw and Phuoboy took turns on the tables but they could not wow the crowd.
It was Dr Vom who rescued the floppy situation and brought the small crowd together before the stage singing along to his trademark tracks Tsaya Tlhobane and Tlhabano.
The lyricist Kay Cee carried the baton with the most energetic stage performance of the night. She came on stage accompanied by Aziche, performed Mosadi, Ekse, Busy, but it was her Avulekile Masango that proved to be the most popular among revelers as they responded positively.
After her performance electricity was cut up for close to 20 minutes. When it was sorted the ever energetic Mapetla rocked the stage with Lapha Skhona, but a transition to the next song became a problem, as the memory sticks and CD’s failed to play.
Mapetla spent most of the time apologising for the technical glitch and when he resumed the crowd was agitated. The Skhokho hit maker played only one song before the technical problem resurfaced and he eventually gave up.
As if that was not enough for the already angry crowd, the festival came to a standstill when it was time for Franco to usher in a live performance.
It took close to 45 minutes for the Kwasa Kwasa muso to get on stage when the entire set had to be reset to accommodate the instruments.
When he finally got on the stage the crowd had lost interest and others have already made their way out of the venue.
The most sought after artists today, ATI and KAST, who were also to be the main act, never set foot on the stage.
No explanation was given to revelers regarding the absence of the artists.
Scores of poor people who came to support the show made their way out after Crispen the drummer wrapped up the poor show in the morning.
In response for his no show on stage, KAST said he did not perform because of time. “I was supposed to be the last act but time caught up with us and we had to stop the show, that is why I could not perform,” he said.
“We had our logistics well sought and all of our artists including ATI and Ozzy F Teddy were at the venue but I can’t comment on the ATI issue right now.”
Kast agreed that the festival was a flop but said that it will not deter him from his mission to promote local music. He said they are switching focus to promoting the Tlatsa Maun festival.
