Murder accused attacks reporters in cops presence

The suspects protested being taken pictures. A Btv reporter who was trying to record visuals just before proceedings commenced, was the target of the remand prisoners’ brunt.

The small courtroom packed with suspects, prosecutors, prison warders and the general public, watched as one of the suspects who had just been uncuffed managed to grab a baton stick from one of the police officers and hurled it at the scribes who were just over two metres away.

The missile hit the Btv camera while the target managed to dodge. Chaos nearly erupted as other suspects also tried to attack the journalist, but the police and prison guards managed to calm them down.

The police whisked away the reporter who was nearly hit by the baton.

The prisoner who threw the baton was identified as Joseph Boheto and is allegedly facing serious offences that  include murder and rape.
