Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Letlapeng chairperson Freddy Ditlhong said for the first time in five years, they have decided to rely on upcoming players. He said the young players are determined to do well as evidenced by the first two results in the league.

The youthful side registered a win over Red Sparks before they played to a stalemate against another young side, Matebejane last Saturday.

“We have even decided to rope in a young coach (Oarabile Seabo) to drill the team,” he said.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport, Seabo said the squad looks promising despite having young players. He said they will take one game at a time and will see what happens at the end of the season.

“I believe we can finish in the top five and we will work hard to achieve that. Anything more than that, including winning the league, will be a bonus for us this season,” he said.

This Saturday, Letlapeng take on log leaders, Notwane in a game, which will be used to officially launch the Debswana First Division South League although the new campaign kicked off two weeks ago. Notwane have been on song this season and have registered a 100% record in the last two games. They are yet to conceded a goal. Under the tutelage of Israel Molao, Notwane have in the last two games proved to be balanced in every department.

They brought in Michael Pepukani in goals while Mpoeleng Mpoeleng has returned to the team after playing for the likes Mochudi Centre Chiefs, FC Satmos and Nico United. Former national Under-20 midfielder, Thato Mogorosi’s game appears to be growing and has been manning Notwane’s midfield while Sthembile Mbuqe leads the attack.

Prisons XI will also be looking to maintain their 100% record when they take on Matebejane tomorrow. Like Notwane, Prisons XI under the leadership of Philemon Makwengwe have also registered two victories and are yet to concede.

They are tied with Notwane at the top with equal number of points and goals.

New comers, Broadhurst United will be hoping to pull another surprise when they take on Black Peril.

Broadhurst have so far managed to collect four points from two games. They shocked Fighters in their own backyard last weekend with a 2-0 win.

In other games, Lesirane City will be home to Fighters while Red Sparks take on Black Rangers.
