Mamelodi handed temporary reprieve

Mamelodi will serve South African forensic audit firm, ADM Financial Forensic Services with papers to appear as part of the court proceedings in the case.
He was removed from his position at the BPL after a forensic conducted by ADM Finance Audit showed financial irregularities with a deficit of P6.2 million. Earlier this year, Mamelodi was successful in his court application to add the audit firm as one of the respondents in the matter.
The firm was to be put to the witness box to defend its report on the findings on the review of accounting procedures, records and reporting of the BPL. The firm joined the BFA and its former interim chief executive officer, Susan Lawrence as the third respondent.
Speaking to Mmegi Sport after the court session, Mamelodi’s legal representative, Dutch Leburu said they sought the court to grant his camp permission to serve ADM Financial Forensic Services to take their stand as the third respondent in the matter that has run for almost a year now. “In terms of process, you have to get a court order authorising that documents be sent out of the country. So the court has granted that order, so we are proceeding to serve them in South Africa so that they are part of the proceedings. So the argument of whether or not they are part of the proceedings would be done in November. It is after then that they would have to file substantive affidavits dealing with whatever they have put up in their report justifying it,” Leburu said.
Mamelodi and his former employer, BFA have been involved in a devastating fight since last year for various reasons. Mamelodi was first suspended in March last year, though he was briefly reinstated the following July, before being hit with another suspension in August last year. The BFA eventually terminated his contract in April. In February, Mamelodi lost a case in which he sought a High Court interdict for a disciplinary hearing by the BFA and faced the BPL Disciplinary Committee in April.
The matter continues on November 15, where a response from the ADM Financial Forensic Services is expected.
