Ntshinogang to land BPL CEO job

Ntshinogang has been at the helm on temporary basis for close to a year following the suspension and subsequent sacking of former CEO, Bennett Mamelodi.
Although the BPL board chairperson, Rapula Okaile said the process of appointing a CEO is currently under recruitment agency, People Connections, reports are that Ntshinogang’s performance has caught the eye of some top officials within the football fraternity. Okaile yesterday told Mmegi Sport that they advertised the post through People Connections who will look into the applications and make recommendations to the board.
He said at the moment the process is still ongoing through the agency and the board will be awaiting recommendations.
He said they would have loved the position to have been filled before the start of the current season, but there were some delays.
However, sources close to the development have revealed that Ntshinogang will be appointed on a permanent basis.
After Mamelodi’s sacking, the post has been linked to several names including the now appointed BFA regions coordinator, Phuthego Setete.
Now with the BFA CEO position no longer vacant after the appointment of Mfolo Mfolo, the BPL CEO position remains the only top post within the BFA structures that is still vacant.
Ntshinogang has been described by some as a shrewd sports administrator who has already proven his credentials before in the mother body, as well as the then Botswana National Sport Council (BNSC).
During his current tenure as the acting BPL head of secretariat, Ntshinogang has also reportedly impressed some football leaders after delivering a chaos-free BTC Premiership season.
His arrival at the BPL followed a season that many described as chaotic and one of the longest seasons recorded in recent years after the Ofentse Nato saga.
He also came at a time when both the mother body and the BPL offices were embroiled in several boardroom wrangles resulting in suspensions, court cases and expulsions.
