The Gilport Lions’ central midfielder’s form has taken a dip in the last two seasons, and was benched at Chiefs.

He moved to Lions at the beginning of the season in an attempt to revive the form that earned him a place in the hearts of football fans while at Gaborone United three seasons back.

South Africa-based Mpho Kgaswane of Baroka FC has joined the team while Jwaneng Galaxy’s Antony Gouws was dropped for BDF XI’s Michael James.

Thero Setsile missed the trip due to an injury.

Veteran defender, Tshepo ‘Talk-Talk’ Motlhabankwe is set for his first Zebras start since 2013. Motlhabankwe retired out from national duty in 2013 when former Zebras coach Stan Tshosane was relieved of his duties.

The 36-year-old became the oldest player in the current squad when he came out of retirement last week.

He was called up for the team that played Ethiopia last weekend.

The Township Rollers’ full back, however, did not feature in the Zebras 2-0 win over the Antelopes as teammate Mosha Gaolaolwe was given the right back role while Edwin Olebile played on the left side of the four-man defence.

Speaking to journalists after the Independence Day win, Bright dropped a hint that he was reserving Motlhabankwe for the away friendly game.

“Talk-Talk is an old player, he needs to recover.  He played a game midweek at his club.

He does not recover like the young boys. He is also an experienced player, I brought him to this team with a purpose. I wanted him to come and guide the young boys and for the next game he will definitely get the chance (to play),” Bright said.
