GIPS offers discount on tuition

Speaking to Mmegi at the institution's open day at its Gaborone campus, the public relations officer, Neo Tlhaselo said GIPS is offering a discount on tuition fees for all levels of self sponsored students. 'We had reserved 65 seats but there are now only 40 seats left. We are planning on increasing them as per demand,' Tlhaselo said.

Tlhaselo explained that the objective of the open day was to showcase programmes and facilities offered by the institution to prospective students and their parents. She said it was also an opportunity for them to meet and interact with lecturers who are more familiar with the course contents. 'More so that they can advise the students on which career paths they can follow after completing their studies,' Tlhaselo said.

'Currently we are taking the relevant documents and will inform the students if they have been admitted by cell phone short messages and media adverts,' she said.

Students interviewed said the exhibition stalls have assisted them in getting more information about GIPS. GIPS currently has about 2, 000 government sponsored students and 1, 000 on self-sponsorship.
