Anglican launches Evangelism campaign

In an interview on Sunday at the Cathedral of Holy Cross, Bishop Beleme said the weeklong activities would commence with leadership evangelism for local clergy, lay minister, church and group leadership.
Beleme said some major highlights of the events would include evangelism and revival platform for the youth, to also include healing and deliverance sessions.
The evangelism will be facilitated by and for members of a group called Sharing of Ministries Abroad (SOMA), from South Africa and three Anglican Evangelists led by Bishop Mark Tanner from the Diocese of Newcastle in the United Kingdom. SOMA teams are made up of both clergy and lay ministers of different experiences, called upon by God TO SERVE THE communion and the worldwide church. Established in 1978, SOMA has offices across the globe in UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Southern Africa, Asia and Latin America, to mention only a few.
“Some of SOMA objectives that also motivate evangelism are to transform individuals, church and communities as well as to renew the power of Holy Spirit to mankind,” Beleme shared.
Accompanying Bishop Tanner will be Canons John Sinclair and Ina Knox respectively while Reverends Chris Viljoen, Estelle August, Ellen Tungwarara and Andre’ van Rayne will preach and inspire local parishes and the general community.
Amongst some the Anglican groups that will benefit from the leadership orientation and evangelism campaign will include the Anglican Men’s and Women’s Fellowship, Mother’s Union, Guilds and Youth. The campaign will also heard up north of Botswana to Serowe, Tonota, Matsiloje and Francistown to appreciate the church infrastructure developments such as day care centers. Anglican dioceses evangelism campaign is to held under theme; Come and Encounter the power of God: Be equipped to preach, teach and inspire. he Anglican Diocese of Botswana has previously had successful Spiritual Revivals or Evangelism campaind. Success in that the presence of God strongly manifested itself and continues to do so.
The first campaing at Diocesan level was of the 18th -20th October 2013 at Holy Cross Cathedral in Gaborone (theme: to deepen spirituality and Fellowship among Anglican Women).
The second one, the 11th -13th July 2014 at St James Anglican Church, Mahalapye, with the theme: women united in the body of Christ: a fight against social ills. God’s blessings were abounding in the Church so much that in 2015 the Diocese held two campaigns: Evangelism campaign 29- Jan-- 8th Feb2015 in partnership with the Diocese of Newcastle—Canon Ian Knox was present then (also Canon John Sinclair is not new to Botswana).
