Bofelo Molebatsi has blown social media away with his epic comedy videos.  His recent hot sauce and cabbage video clips have won him a great number of fans that have applauded him for brightening up their bad days. Some of his fans have even called him Mr Hot Sauce while some call him Mr Cabbage.

The young man’s ability to make funny faces, his sense of humour and the way he presents himself has successfully gained him popularity.  His Facebook page has more than 4,500 followers.  The 19-year-old Mokgatla told Showbiz that he grew up watching a lot of African American comedy films.  He pointed out that he especially loved Martin Lawrence’s work.

“Martin Lawrence’s films inspired me to do most of my videos.  He is the kind of character that would bring you laughter no matter what kind of day you might have. My dream is to write a script and direct the type of movies African Americans always do. This would upgrade our local entertainment industry and promote comedy,” he said. The young man said he was excited when the public received his talent with open arms. He said he has many followers on his Facebook page called ‘William Last KRM’ where many people have liked and shared his video clips.

“Even though most comments are about how ugly I look when I act, I love the fact that my fans love me. Because of Facebook, I have fans from overseas like England and USA. Some are even comparing my voice to that of Denzel Washington’s. It makes me feel like a legend,” he said. Molebatsi said he was thrilled that a number of local celebrities had shown him support by sharing his video clips. He said those artists include A.T.I, DJ Gouveia, Lerofo just to name but a few.

“I feel like I have brought a new style of acting and comedy here in Botswana, but there are more funny people out there who can do the same.  If they are willing, I can teach them how to use their talents.  Anyone who is willing to work with me can freely approach me,” he said.

He said even though he had never done stand up comedy before, he is ready and urged comedy promoters to invite him to their events.

Molebatsi said he would like production companies to recognise his talent and sign him on.  The comedian said his dream was to use his talent to make money so that one day he could build his mother a house.  He also wants to start his own record label and a tutorial acting group named after him.

Molebatsi added that his dream was to co-star in a movie with Martin Lawrence some day. He said that besides acting he does music as a Hip Hop and motswako singer.

“I have encountered challenges because every funny clip I shoot I have to write a script and ensure that the video is funny so sometimes I ran out of ideas and funny mojos.  But my friend Boduo Phale who edits the videos is always there to help me out,” he said.  He credited Austin Tshekedi for helping with the scriptwriting at times.
