The much-travelled Satar who broke at Mamoja before a journey to BMC, Township Rollers and Orapa United is on a drive to resuscitate his career.

He spent three seasons on the sidelines struggling for a first team breakthrough at Rollers and United.

Calendar started well forcing the visitors onto a back foot in the opening minutes, but they failed to profit from countless attacks.

In a man-of-the-match performance, Satar forced the visitors to create numerous fouls in front of the box but the end product was disappointing.

Lovers gained control of the midfield towards the end of the half, but could not find their way through Calendar’s disciplined defence.

The second half produced end-to-end display. Lovers substitute, Thusego Gaodirelwe had a chance when he went through in the 73rd minute, but the defence recovered to poke the ball out before the attacker could pull the trigger.

Calendar responded immediately with captain Gaolefufa Mosala wasting a glorious chance with a miscued half volley, when he was unmarked in the penalty area.

Lovers’ defender, Onthusitse Tamapo was given his marching orders in the 75th for an argument with the referee.

Two minutes later, Satar missed a chance when he got to the end of a Mosala flick and his shot went inches wide.

He made up for his miss four minutes later when he latched into a long ball behind the napping defence and drilled a shot that was parried back on to his path by the goalkeeper and he tapped into the net.

His coach, Boipuso Manyalo was happy with his off-season acquisition. He said the player improved his attack.

“That is what he brings to the team, experience and spark. It is just a matter of getting him back to his best and then we can expect a lot from him. We must thank him for these three points.”

Lovers coach, Othusitse Kootswele said his team played well but blamed their loss on indiscipline.

“That red card was uncalled for especially from our key defender. The team was well disciplined until when we were one man down. We can’t say a lot about this game,” he said.
