Both sides created few goal scoring opportunities in the first half, but the visitors had two chances before the end of the first half but failed to capitalise. Prisons XI also had a chance and hit the crossbar through Emmanuel Thabaki following a good ball into the box.

Thabaki rose high but his header hit the crossbar before it was cleared by the Modipane defence. Right at the start of the second half, Prisons XI coach, Philemon Makhwengwe introduced former Extension Gunners winger, Kelelo Kgosimore for Thabaki to try and unlock Modipane defence. Two minutes into the second half, Prisons XI took the lead through Watunwa Muniazo.

They then took control of the game and were rewarded once again when Mokuye Shakambayo increased the lead with a powerful strike. Modipane United defence, who at times were found wanting, gave him a room and he beautifully struck past the goalkeeper.

Modipane United made changes to try and get back into the game, but found Prisons XI’s defence well organised.

Speaking in a post match interview, Modipane United coach, Wire Kaelo said the loss was a reality check and they have to go back and fix their mistakes. He said they knew Prisons were tough opponents hence they tried at all times to close them down.

Makhwengwe on the other hand, said he was happy with his players’ performances although he would have loved to see more goals.  He said they missed chances and had wanted to score three goals.
